@Ari: as for the grammatical stuff - I'm pretty aware of what you said and that's why Intermediate level annoys me so much.
The higher you get the less crap like this you are ought to learn. When we were on Advanced level and the lower group asked us for help, it was like that:
- You should have used a different tense.
- Why?
- ...
Most of the time it took us a while to recall the rules :). We just knew.

[It's the second time I've written this comment, I hope it won't get deleted o_o.]

Feh. Apparently my cousin said there's no way of knowing what the courses in uni are like for sure - until you get pretty stuck in them. -_- I do think that the "no paper, no job" mentality sucks, but that's how it is for most employers.

If there's one thing I can say, however, it's that I don't believe in too many grammar drills. Neither does my mum, who, ironically, is an English teacher. xDYou see, most native English speakers aren't too bothered with whether the sentence is in Present Perfect, Present Continuous etc; they just speak! We don't go through a "ton of grammatical rules" before picking out the right words.
I bet if you go up to a person who speaks English and ask "how do you know which particular tense to use" or something like that, usually, you'll probably hear "ionno really." Unless the person is a geek and can actually explain the hows and whys of tenses every time you ask them.

For the record, you can tell your tutor that PHP includes is pretty basic too. =)

Regarding the piece of paper thing (about uni), I agree. T_T Workplaces are horrid nowadays at the fact that they are only willing to hire someone with a degree...since a degree does not always mean a person knows what they're doing (such as a classmate of mine who I swear was given a passing grade because all of my instructors were too annoyed with him to get him in class again).

@Mike: już się rozpędziłam :P
Na PJWSTK jest coś takiego jak sztuka nowych mediów, otworzyli to chyba w tym roku. Niestety jest jeszcze droższe niż WSB i trzeba pokazać teczkę x_x".

@Megori: the only thing that studies are useful for is the degree aka a piece of paper where someone has written that you actually completed your studies. There are employers who care only about the degree. Ok, you may be good, but without this piece of paper, sorry.

As for CG&M and Flash games: none of is really interested in becoming proffesional game developer. Flash is perfectly enough for us ;).
We also thought it would be more 'media' oriented. It's not and we just have to survive it XD. I don't think that we will have anything of the kind. There will be digital photography and esthetics & composition and that's probably it.

Well, we will see. I'm in the middle of my studies and it only gets better with each term :).
