As you can see in the photo above, I own a full collection of Silent Hill games. All games are for PlayStation (One or 2), except for my latest Precious - Silent Hill 5 – Homecoming.
PC version this time. I don’t feel like buying PlayStation3 just for this one game. It might be powerful, but still it’s yet another PlayStation, nothing revolutionary here (in other words: it’s not Nintento Wii ;D).
There’s just one little problem. My PC. SH6 requires a bit too much.
Getting more RAM woudn’t be a problem, but a DuoCore processor – indeed. If I wanted to get it, I’d have to get the whole new motherboard. If I did, I’d have to change the graphics card as well.
Anyway, I can’t really afford it now, so I guess I’ll -try- to play the way it is: on my sister’s PC, Bonifacy ;D. I am able to start the game there, but it gets stuck in the middle of action, but honestly, it is a real pain in the ass.
There is a dodge button (new option in SH), but before Alex dodges it’s already after the attack and since he respondes to, like, one third of MY attacks… well, let’s say there’s not enough Health Drinks all over Shepherd’s Glen. But I have to live with it, I guess. Unless I win in some kind of a lottery or something.
As for the game itself, some people, who are just as obsessed with Silent Hill as I am, rated it highly.
Personally, I don’t want to be too hopeful, I don’t want it to be a total dissapointment. Since I already started the game, after I wrote that part, I must say that it’s pretty decent. And it deffinitely has its strong points, like Pyramid Head. In his movie version. Which is more terrifying than Silent Hill 2 version.
It was really cool when he appeared right after the game started <3.
So if you won’t hear from me within a week I:
a) am still playing *-*,
b) got pissed at Bonifacy and threw it through the window (sounds cool XD),
c) died of a heart-attack and there was no one around to rescue me (which is hardly possible, because my mom is always watching me play [I am the remote keeper XD or keyboard keeper, this time]).
So, see you all next time~! Hopefully, that is :).

One and Four you say, nice dispersion ;). The Room (4) is the least Silent Hill-ish of all, but I still like it.
There isn’t much of dexterity needed in SH games, they focus rather on riddles and well, surviving (aka getting rid of monsters with a gas pipe). If you have strong nerves, you could try it.
Homecoming might be a little more challenging here, because of this whole dodge option, so it’s not a good idea to start with, Origins is just irritaiting (have I ever mentioned that your weapon is breaking after, like, up to three monters? x_x Even a katana?), but any of the first 3 games would be accurate. Of course, it would be best to start with number one. I must tell you that playing it all by yourself in the middle of the night is quite unforgettable ;D.
Yes, I am addicted. Totally.
*sings* I wanted freedom
bound and restricted
I tried to give you up
but I’m addicted
*cough* *cough*
And yes, I guess PS3 IS faster than my PC x_x”. And Bonifacy as well. *sigh*
And how much I spent on them? The latest one was around… $23, Origins 40+ I guess, numbers 4 to 2 around 30 each and number one? It was a gift. So it was like $150. And it took years to collect all of them ;D. The best part is that parts from 2 to 4 were unavailable in Poland so I went to England to get them XD.

Geez, I got lost in the text for a while, but now we’re home ;) So You’ve played SH Homecoming on PC, right? Not Shattered Memories (If so, there’s something wrong – I’ve always thought the game’s would come up February 2010)?
Yeah, having considered the fact my laptop’s overheating after staying on wooden desk for 6 hours, I guess playing SH:Homecoming on it wouldn’t be the best idea I’ve came up with this year >>. But I’ve passed SH2 on it ;D Steering with keyboard/mouse was terrifying, it’s up high time to buy a simple joypad for it ;]
Well, how do you get a free time for play it anyway? ;D The New Year’s party this night is probably my last chance to have a fair dose of relax, and up from tomorrow I have to become a crammer again >>. And so on during whole January and a half of February (studies…time flows different. 2 weeks of winter holidays in 3 days ;).
I’d rather buy XBOX 360 rather than PS3 THIS TIME. IT’s quite odd in my case since I’ve always been such a loyal Sony supporter, but at the moment PS3 is way too expensive for me (and has a lot more to offer if the games list is considered ;P). But I won’t anyway. Why? Still – lack of time. I’d play SH for 5 days, and a 4 months “break” then – it’s unaffordable!
As for Wii – you won’t find any better option to liven up slime parties ;D
An interesting part at the end of text – I do remember this time when most of video games were unavailable in Poland or costed everything ;P I used to have (and I guess it’s still somewhere in my brother’s room ;D) Dreamcast after I’d sold out my old PS. It was stupid since DC was already dead, and game producers weren’t to create any new games for it, but all in all I don’t regret it. Have you ever heard about Shenmue series? I’m dreaming about seeing another part of it *.* The best game I’ve ever played ;D Maybe because I was still karate-addict that time (and used to train it).
Geez…I guess whether WP will accept such long comment O_o

Yup, Shattered Memories should be released in February 2010. It is, however, at least the third release date I’ve heard so it might be postponed again.
Homecoming doesn’t really want to cooperate with a pad. I can go forward, backward, left and right, but I cannot TURN. This one time I tried Alex ended up on a wall a few times >_>.
I have some free time now, during the break. Though I should be writing my thesis, it’s due Feb 11, but I don’t even have a subject x_x”. Yay for me.
DreamCast… it’s was made by Sega, right?
I’ve always wanted to try Shenmue out. It’s graphics at the time was so perfect and beautiful *-*. Comered to my favourite game of that time: Tomb Raider ;).
You know what I can tell you about replacing PS with DC? “Zamienił stryjek siekierkę na kijek” :P.
XBOX sounds cool too, yet again it’s just another console of the same genre. Wii is something different. And cheaper~! ;D

Have a break, have a booze up, and have a happy new year! <3

Wow.
Silent Hill addict! I wonder how much you spent on collecting them?
Wow, the needs of the latest games are rapidly increasing. “Maybe the PlayStation 3 is even faster than PCs now”, Rog told me that.
I have seen Rog play SH 1 and 4, but I never really played on my own. My hands are too slow for those, seriously.
