Favourite Music: Mainly Rock. Favourite bands are: MUSE, Korn, Evanescence, Franz Ferdinand, My Chemical Romance, Porcupine Tree and Queens of the Stone Age. That’s for those you might have heard of. Lately, I’m also in love with two Polish artists: Czesław Śpiewa and All Sounds Allowed. Fresh and genius.
There was a time in my life when I’ve been listening to J-music only. I still can’t get over with MUCC, which, in my opinion, is the best Japanese band ever.
Oh, and there are two soundtracks that I can listen to over and over again: Queen of the Damned and my little obsession: Silent Hill. Especially Silent Hill.
In-Depth:
I have been wondering how shall I start this part. I guess explaining few things might be a good idea. I will follow the order from th previous section:
Haava is a Finnish word which means wound. I have been looking for a good, matching nickname for quite a while now and thankfully my MT (Mental Twin) has been really helpful here, as always X3. I asked if she knew any words in Finnish which would be suitable for me. Her first choice was Vihainen (wrathful ;)) and second Haava. And why on earth did she mention two words with such nice meanings? Well, wrathful should be my second name >_>. Interesting detail from the same conversation: herkkusieni means button mushroom XD (MT’s justification: “no one would ever know and it sounds good ;D”).
As for my previous and best known nickname: Sarissa, it has been in use for quite some time, though I wanted it to be “teporary”. In times when I was still oh-so-creative I made up a character called Sarissa and simply decided to use the name as my own. “I won’t stick with it for too long, anyway” I thought. Yeah right, it’s been few years ago. Five, perhaps? Almost like temporary ;D.
I know that for most of you there’s a small difference between college and university. In Poland, the problem is that ‘University’, as a name, is reserved for public schools and translating a name of private school on the same level is hard. I’m a student of non-public school. Higher School of Banking to be exact. I think I’ll still use “uni” as a general reference to my school, even though it doesn’t have the word “university” in name.
I study Infotmatics & Econometrics and my speciality is Computer Graphics & Multimedia.
In July 2008 I started working at small advertising agency as a designer (?). First few months of my work may be described as training, since most of my work is done in Illustrator and InDesign and I had no idea on how to use them. That’s why there’s a question mark: while this training part I wasn’t really self-reliant and most of my projects were limited to my boss’ ideas. Now that I got used to the new programs and evil Mac I started working more on my own. We will see what’s going to happen now ;D. It’s still quite limited to my boss’ visions… Which, most of the time, are way different from how I imagine things. That’s it, as far as filling my portfolio with work-oriented things comes. *sigh*
One more (wrathful) Soul to the Call really tells a lot about me. First of all, I’m obsessed with Silent Hill and I doubt if this will change anytime soon. And what about this “wrathful” part? I am sarcastic and honest. I do not really care if people like me or not. I get upset pretty easily. I’m quite self-confident as well and because of that I do not hesitate, but say what I think.
