Well, I’ve been pretty busy lately ;) and this place got reeeeaaaaally low on my priority list… sorry? XD
These two photos were taken on Balticon, a M&A fan convention which took place two days ago. I will write more about it when I get more photos.

The main reason why I finally decided to move my butt and write something is slightly different:

MiniGolf

Few weeks ago, we were celebrating my friend’s Mizet’s birthday. Doing so on MiniGolf became our little tradition (this was our second time, but hush ;D).
It was sunny and warm and oh so cool. I guess it was first weekend in May with such a good weather. We all had a great time. Hopefully :P. I won’t write much more, I’ll give you photos with captions ;).

FINALLY~!

My very own WordPress theme. It’s not the first one I’ve ever created, but the first for my own use.

I wouldn’t be myself if making such design took me less than two months. I started it right before Christmas and after finishing the graphics part, neglected it for few weeks. But now it’s ready and I love it <3, even though it’s not perfect. Tag Cloud is getting on my nerves, seriously. Normally, the widgets work with <h2><ul>, but not the Tag Cloud. It doesn’t give a damn about <ul> or any other HTML tag which might have added a padding into it x_x”. Or at least I haven’t found any… But other than that, I love this theme <3.

As you probably noticed, the idea was to create a neon-like style of design. It was inspired by a Photoshop tutorial I found on Abduzeedo and the design I created for MaxStudio’s blog.
This theme is so much more my style than the previous one. I guess people will always associate me with grungy designs. Besides, I’m just sick of winter. Oh snow, how I hate you~!
Anyway, I never really created a design with such high contrasts. My colour schemes usually were more monochromatic. Well, maybe excluding RT’s theme, the black/red one. This reminds me… I really should move my butt and put Radioactive Toy back up. It’s been almost a year since I opened it and almost a year since my last update of the site XD. And so the award for the worst webmistress goes to… Oh, never mind. It’s not really my fault that I didn’t create anything showable until just recently x_x”. When you work for someone whose vision is like 180° away from your own, it’s not easy. My boss likes my projects, my co-workers like my project and I… not really.

On the other hand, I did few designs I like. First of all, my boss’ portfolio. It was the very first design ever which I could create simply according to my own vision. My boss only approved of it. Of course, it’s dark. Have I ever created a good lightly-coloured design? Hardly. Well, maybe Nothing ’til the Weekend, but it’s just one among many. Exception makes a rule?
The second work-oriented design I like would probably be our style blog. I like it, but I didn’t think of it as a design accurate for a company. But my boss and co-workers love it, so let it be. It was the second WordPress theme I ever created, so I’m quite proud of it.
The third one is connected with the style blog, but it’s the latest design of our main page. It’s exactly the same style, but horizontal. I must say that I like it much more than the blog. Everything looks clean and organized.

Ok, that’s pretty much it for today. I have few entries started so you can expect Vi.net to be updated more frequently. I guess it’s my way to avoid learning. I’m not slacking, I’m keepeing myself busy with other things ;D. On the other hand, it would be really nice to pass goddamn econometrics x_x”.

A while ago a posted some WIPs of a vector of my OC Lazuri. So here she is, finally done.

As you can see her eyes have a different colour now. This shade of blue matches her perfectly and I didn’t want her to be mistaken with some sorry excuse for a vampire :P (Twilight Saga, anyone?). She does not sparkle, even though she’s a pirokinethic. So yeah, I will stick to this colour.

So, here’s the wallpaper featuring Zooey and done entirely in Illustrator. It’s also my little tribute to “Twin Peaks”. How? The quote (and this post’s title) has been taken from it. I must admit that it’s weird series, but I’ve seen both seasons and I love it.

But back to subject, the wallpaper:

I used this wallpaper as my project for Multimedia Software. I hope I pass >_>. My sourse file is a bit messy and has only one layer… mainly because Zooey has been created as a separate file, then grouped and put in the background file.

Side note: I’m messing around with this place quite a lot. I keep changing both sidebars, I changed the names of Pages and placed Archives as a separate Page as well.
I guess I’ll keep using 3 coloums themes forever, simply because there’s a lot of stuff there and I really love the way Vi.net looks right now <3.

I really wanted to create this blog from scratch, with my own theme and so on. The only thing that comes to my mind now is: oh screw it. And that’s how I finally got it up ;). The best part is that it took only one day to create it. You know, with installing it, finding a theme, writing pages and everything.

Oh, I guess I should have started with it, but oh well. Let me introduce myself, since my new nickname won’t tell you who I am. Sarissa, sounds familliar? To some of you, those with very good memory (x_x), possibly.
Anyway, Vi.net is my new baby. A place where all of my memories, opinions and thoughts can be kept.
As for the domain itself, word Vihainen means wrathful in Finnish and in the same language Haava means wound. Lovely, isn’t it? For more info, please check the pages. Thank you.

I still don’t know how I want to start. I guess my first real post will be Uni oriented, since I’ve written one quite some time ago. Then, I think, I’ll get to that review on MUSE’s album “Black Holes and Revelations”, which also has been started.
Well, I can’t say that I don’t have any ideas for this place. All I need now is some free time, once in a while.

The good thing is that this term ends soon. As my project for “webdesign” (more in my next post) I decided to get Radioactive Toy running. Yes, I am aware that it’s “almost ready” ever since (um… half a year, is it?), but I really need to get it done if I want to pass ;D.
So stay tuned, because the site might be up anytime now! (Not that anyone cares anyway ;D).
